Supplier profiles, pack size, MOQ, cost, and codes
Supplier profiles save recurring plan inputs. Product-specific supplier rules describe how a particular SKU must be ordered. Use a profile for reusable plan defaults and rules for item-level commercial constraints.

Create a supplier profile
- Go to Leanmerce → Purchase Planner → New plan.
- Enter the supplier and a descriptive profile name.
- Choose the product scope, analysis period, availability policy, lead time, coverage, safety stock, budget, purchase currency, default pack size, default MOQ, and any known order-source exclusions.
- Select Save profile.
- Confirm the success message and reselect the profile to verify that the intended defaults return.
Product-rule fields
- Supplier code: the supplier-facing identifier preserved in mappings and exports.
- Pack size: the ordering increment. A calculated requirement is rounded to a whole pack.
- MOQ: the minimum quantity when an order is proposed.
- Unit cost: purchase cost per unit excluding tax, used for value and budget calculations.
- Currency: the three-letter purchase currency paired with cost. No exchange rate is assumed.
- Minimum stock/trial/blocked/note: optional product-specific operational values supported by the rules template.
Product-specific rules take precedence for that SKU. Plan defaults apply when a product has no corresponding rule. Missing cost remains visible; it is not silently converted to zero.
Pack and MOQ example
If the unrounded requirement is 13 units, the pack size is 6, and the MOQ is 12, the proposal is 18 units: the calculation first respects the minimum and then rounds upward to a complete pack. If the requirement is zero, pack and MOQ alone do not create a demand proposal.
Import product rules
- Open Import & tracking and choose SKU & purchase-cost rules.
- Download a fresh template.
- Identify each row by SKU or product ID. Enter positive integer pack and MOQ values; pair cost with currency.
- Acknowledge and validate the workbook. Every row must pass before any rule is applied.
Verify the effect
Recalculate an exact-SKU plan and expand Calculation and rules. Confirm the supplier code, cost/currency, pack, MOQ, and resulting rounded proposal match the saved rule. Check that any budget limit changes the approved quantity without erasing the original suggestion.
